We are thrilled to announce Cura Contemporary’s 2025 Open Call! We’re looking for Bay Area artists to submit work for a group show. The application opens Friday, August 15th and closes Monday, September 15th, 2025. Before submitting, we encourage artists to visit our gallery to experience the type of work we exhibit and/or explore the artwork we have available online

Submissions Open: Friday, August 15th, 2025

Submissions Close: Monday, September 15th, 2025 at 11:59PM PST 

Notice of Acceptance: Saturday, November 1st, 2025
Drop off artwork: Tuesday, December 16th -  Sunday, December 21st 11am - 5pm

Opening Reception: Saturday, January 10th, 2026, 4-6pm

Exhibition Run Dates: Saturday, January 10th, 2026 – Sunday, February 1st, 2026 

Pick up artwork: Tuesday, February 3 - Sunday, Feb 8, 2026 11am - 5pm

 

Eligibility and Guidelines

 

  • Artists 18+ who live in the following Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, San Benito, or Monterey. 

  • All work must be for sale. If work sells during the exhibition there is a 50% split with Cura. 

  • Artists will be required to submit an artist statement, short bio, optional CV/artistic resume, and up to 5 works of art with titles, materials, dimensions, year, and price.  

  • Please note we cannot accept mailed artwork. DROP OFF ONLY. Accepted artwork must be dropped off the week of Tuesday, December 16th -  Sunday December 21st from 11AM - 5PM. Location: 17395 Monterey Road, Morgan Hill, CA 95037

  • Accepted materials include: 2D and 3D work.

Cura Contemporary is an art center located in Morgan Hill, CA. The name Cura derives from Latin, meaning help or care, reflecting our commitment to supporting artists while enriching the lives of the people in our community. Our mission is to become an arts destination for the greater Bay Area and to invigorate the local art scene in the South Bay by creating opportunities for growth and connection.

 

We have two floors of exhibition space that alternate monthly with group and solo shows so there is always something new on display. Our roster of over forty artists includes both emerging and mid-career artists whose work has a strong sense of materiality and whose practices embrace process. The work is tactile, colorful, and unexpected across a wide mix of mediums including painting, photography, works on paper, textile, ceramic, glass, wood, and jewelry.
