Artist Talk with Susan Chrysler White

October 8, 2025
Overview
Join us for an artist talk in conjunction with Susan Chrysler White's solo show Between Pattern and Pulse on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025 from 6 to 7:30 PM. This event will be in person in our upstairs gallery surrounded by her incredible work. We will also be providing a link to tune in remotely if you are not local to Morgan Hill. This event is FREE and open to the public.

The works in Between Pattern and Pulse feature brightly patterned paintings, works on paper, and dazzling acrylic sculptures that reference the anatomical, botanical, and spiritual while also drawing from her fascination with collections and visual memories of living abroad.
Throughout her practice, she has remained fascinated by extreme polarities—chaos and order, brutality and beauty. Whether through an artistic or spiritual lens, she views life as an interplay between these forces, each revealing something essential. White writes, “There is a fundamental human impulse to seek order within the ever-shifting current of experience. Across various forms of language—scientific, artistic, spiritual, and even everyday discourse—we attempt to organize and make sense of our worlds. These systems of expression often intersect and borrow from one another, enriching our communication through metaphor and layered meaning.”
