A self-described visual story-teller, Kathryn draws freely from memory about personal lived experiences of her past and present. Her prints are an honest expression of her perspective growing up as a woman in the 1950s and ‘60s and in response to contemporary issues that concern the female experience. Kathryn’s artwork visually communicates the importance of female empowerment through subject matter inspired by the women in her family; herself, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Oftentimes the viewer will see repeated symbols within her prints. Some of these include a red thread that symbolizes Kathryn’s bloodline, and symbols of fire reference cleansing, purifying, or even destruction. However, Kathryn’s use of symbols is not literal, in fact, she hopes the viewer brings their own experiences and emotions to her artwork! Sign up for the talk to learn about more of the symbols within her work, and so much more.
When: Thursday, December 11th, 2025 from 6 PM - 7:30 PM
Location: Online over Zoom
Tickets: Free, but please register on Eventbrite here!
