Originally from New Zealand, Cynthia Nge now lives and works in France. Cynthia is the studio jeweller behind Minicyn, which she created in 2009 after being a full-time Graphic Designer and Illustrator for 15 years in the Antipodean. Both her diplomas in graphic design and applied arts were completed in the ‘90s in Auckland, New Zealand. Minicyn celebrated its 10th year anniversary in 2019 and continues to make, exhibit, and sell internationally throughout the world.
Nge often finds inspiration at Parisian fea markets and incorporates objects such as antique mother-of-pearl poker chips and motifs found on an engraved knife into her work. Since July 2022, Nge has been working largely from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, Marseille, France. Shenfocuses on hand crafting unique, quality and timeless pieces that will last a life time. Zero waste jewellery is practiced in her process in which precious metal wastage is always recycled & melted back down by the local foundry to be used again professionally.
Every collection has a story to tell, often earthy and spiritually inspired feel, replacing the notion that jewellery should be glitzy and flamboyant. New ideas and techniques are introduced on a regular basis, producing an eclectic and perpetual line.
