Kathryn Polk is originally from Tennessee, lived in Tucson, AZ for many years and currently lives in Indiana. A visual storyteller, her imagery is based on the women in her family navigating their lives through work, relationships, and day-to-day survival. Polk’s powerful and intricately drawn lithographs depict personal iconography through the lens of her Southern Heritage and strict religious upbringing during the 1950’s and 60’s. Her work is held in many national and international collections including The National Academy of Fine Art (China), University of Wales (UK), and The Denver Art Museum (CO). Polk studied at the Memphis Art Academy and The University of Memphis. She is also the co-owner of L VIS Press, a lithography print studio.
