In this unique one day workshop learn how to make your very own hand bound book with decorative papers designed and printed by you! In the first half of the class you will learn how to use Gelli Printing Plates to design and print your papers using a variety of found and textured objects and acrylic paint. Then, in the the second half of the class we will incorporate it into a hardcover book that would make a wonderful sketchbook or journal. We will use needle and thread to stitch together paper resulting in your very own hand bound book. All materials will be provided, just bring yourself for a fun and creative class!

About the Artist:
Roberta E. Laine is a full-time artist based in Wisconsin. She holds a B.S. of Art Education (1978) and a Masters of General Education (1995) from The University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Roberta has taught visual art to public school students for 30 years, while creating her own artwork and pursuing her creative interests during the summers at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Frogman’s Print Workshops, Milwaukee School of Art and Design, and the Marchutz School of Art in Aix-En-Provence, France. After retiring from teaching high school art in 2017, she had the opportunity to teach at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in the Interior Architecture Department from 2017-2019. Since then she has been living the dream of being a full-time artist.

Cancellation:
In the case that minimum class enrollment is not met 4 days prior to the workshop, Colibri Gallery will cancel the workshop and issue you a full refund. We will also let you know if the class is rescheduled for a future date.
